Description
1934 Singer 221 Featherweight Sewing Machine Schoolbell. Condition is "Used". Serial number AD7819xx (last two digits are blacked out of the photo for buyer protection and privacy). This Featherweight was commissioned November 27, 1934. It has a “schoolbell” bobbin tension unit, and a beautiful scrolled face plate. It has been serviced, and is in excellent running condition. It sews fast, and will be ready to sew right out of the box when it arrives.
When I purchased this featherweight, I was told that it may have possibly been painted at some point. I do not know for sure. Either way, I think it looks great. There are some small knicks and scratches on the bed of the machine that I tried to capture in the photos. The only decals visible are on the light fixture; this is how it was when I bought it. I did the stitch samples myself, and it makes the beautiful stitch these machines are known for.
This type 2 carrying case is a rarer case and is original to this machine. The bottom and outside have been restored (but left unstained), and the inside was left as original as possible. The case is structurally sound, has no odors, and the handle supports the case with the machine inside (however, it is always recommended to hold the case from the bottom while carrying).
This comes with what is pictured: Featherweight sewing machine, carrying case, case tray insert, foot control, accessories shown, extra bobbins, and original singer bobbin case.
Item will be packed inside of the case to prevent movement during shipment. The spool pin holder will be removed and wrapped for protection with the screw left in the machine where it belongs. The item will be shipped via FedEx and insured for the purchase price. It will be shipped within one business day, and will arrive signature required.
Thank you for looking, and have a great day!
