This sale offers a vintage and original
Victorian era Canadian Army General Service Uniform Button
dating to
1855-1901.  This antique military button measures about 25mm in diameter (1").  It has white metal on the front and brass on the back. On the front it is marked
"CANADA MILITIA"
with a QVC
Queen Victorian Crown with a beaver and maple leafs on the outside perimeter
and the back is marked "
P. Tait & Co. Limerick
" and the loop on the back is intact. This type of button Canadian militia troops would have worn during the Fenian Raids of the 1860s-1870s on their Red Coat uniforms.
Condition is very good, may have some slight surface wear and/or discoloring from age.
